Our Services
Since 1952, MCAR has been the leading service provider in Mercer County for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide unparalleled opportunities in employment, vocational training and transitioning, housing, older adult care, family supports and habilitation.
Advocacy
Since 2004, our advocacy efforts have focused on helping families with children maneuver the special education process to ensure a positive education. Our advocacy services are free of charge to families and individuals in Mercer County.
Community Participating Supports
Through both facility-based training and hands-on exploration, we coach individuals through making decisions and solving problems, while also increasing their potential for employment in the community.
Residential Programs
Since the 1970s, MCAR has offered residential services to individuals with disabilities. Through group homes, respite care and family living opportunities, we provide a safe and secure place for individuals to enjoy everyday life.
Older Adult Day Center
Our Older Adult Day Center helps individuals age 59 and older transition from the workplace to retirement, while also protecting their health, safety and well-being.
Habilitation Aide
Our habilitation aide program assists families, caregivers and individuals with disabilities by providing trained aides that help with daily living activities and promote community inclusion.
Work Opportunities
We believe that a job gives a person purpose, dignity and independence. Take advantage of our contract jobs, on-site businesses, community employment program or internship coordination.
Clinical Department
The Clinical Department offers Behavior Support Services to individuals with challenging behaviors. Individuals that reside in Residential Group Homes or attend Community Participation Services can receive Behavioral Support Services.
