Fun In The Sun is a Day camp for special needs children and youth held for 4 weeks each summer. Participants are between the ages of 6 and 21. Please take the time to browse this page and learn about some the activities enjoyed by the campers, our philosophy and how to become involved. Philosophy
All kids deserve to opportunity to learn, socialize and recreate. We strive to provide traditional childhood activities for all campers regardless of ability.

Staff
The camp is led by Tim Magnotto and Mike Jones. Tim and Mike bring a wealth of experience and enthusiam to each day's events. The camp is primarily staffed by college students majoring in Special Education, Elementary Education or other related fields. Nurses are on on duty at all times. We maintain a ratio of one staff member for every four campers.

 

Acivities
Each year we plan a variety of traditional camp activities of interest to all children. The highlight of each year is an overnight trip. Past trips have included Niagara Falls, Cedar Point Amusement Park and the Cleveland Zoo and Rain Forest. The following lists a typical schedule of activities that occur during the month of camp:

Bowling,
Field Trips to Pizza Hut, Auntie Ann's, etc.,
Swimming,
Water Day (Squirt ins, Water Balloons, etc.),
Horse Back Riding,
Movies,
Recreation Station,
Petting Zoo,
Track and Field Day,
Roller Skating,
Extended Day Trips to area attractions,
And much more.
