Community Employment program provides work training, situational assessment,
job placement and mobile janitorial work crew job
opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities in the Mercer
County
geographic area. The Community Employment
programs are conducted through a Supported/Supportive Employment model offering
competitive employment to individuals whom have not had traditional work
opportunities due to disability.

MCAR Community Employment staff assist
individuals in assessing their interests, skills, goals
and aid in application for participation in the traditional
workplace. Services include: · Job search assistance · Job application assistance · Job placement · Job coaching · Follow-up services

MCAR offers assistance to indviduals in
setting up and running their own businesses. C.E.
support staff can assess abilites, provide training,
job coaching, consultation, and follow up. Services
include:
· Business plan preparation · Business finance application · Job Training · Job Coaching · Transportation solutions

Mobile Janitorial
Work Crew
MCAR’s
C.E. program operates a janitorial work crew that travels with-in the Mercer
County
area and conducts janitorial cleaning services at contracted sites. The crew is staffed with individuals with
developmental disabilities with a crew supervisor/job coach. The crews perform traditional janitorial work
including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and floor maintenance.
